University Immersion Experience
Bring Joy to Our Residents!
Balfour Senior Living is proud to finally bring an element to our Ann Arbor community that we had not yet begun due to the COVID pandemic restrictions. The community was designed to offer one complimentary apartment to a University of Michigan student in exchange for performing, lecturing, hosting discussion groups, participating in activities or excursions, etc. with our residents for 12-15 hours each week.
In advance of the fall 2022 semester, Balfour Ann Arbor is now accepting student applications for this unique opportunity. Graduate students and upper class undergraduates are preferred. Fields of study applicable for this role include but are not limited to Musical Theater, Music, Dance, Geriatrics, and Social Work. University of Michigan Band Members are also welcome!
Jessica Priehs, Director of Life Enrichment, heads up this experience. She will be accepting applications and conducting interviews. Applications are due by April 30, 2022. Interviews will be conducted in May. “Our residents are also looking forward to the infusion of University of Michigan student energy, knowledge and talents to our community. The student that lands this role will have the experience of a lifetime. Many of our residents are alumni, retired University staff, retired local executives, and long time Ann Arbor residents,” effused Jessica.
The complimentary apartment comes with kitchenette, basic cable, internet, utilities, surface parking, fitness center and indoor pool. If that wasn’t enough, this student will also have daily chef-prepared gourmet meals.
