New Denver apartment projects come with much less parking than in past
More apartments are going up in Denver than ever. But many of them now come with less of an amenity once considered vital — parking.
“We designed our buildings to encourage tenants to use public transit, bike and walk,” said Erik Hagevik, a senior development partner at Holland Residential in Denver.
Holland Residential is building Platform at Union Station, a 287-unit project touching the nexus of rail, light rail and bus lines. It will provide only 263 parking spaces, which works out to a ratio of 0.92.
