Balfour Senior Living Supports Change at Stapleton
Balfour Senior Living Supports Change at Stapleton.
After thoughtful consideration of events taking place nationwide as well as a better understanding of the historical perspective surrounding the Stapleton name in Denver’s past, Balfour Senior Living announces its support of the Master Community Association (MCA Stapleton), Stapleton United Neighbors (SUN), and Brookfield Properties Development as they work to remove the name Stapleton from the north Denver community.
Balfour Senior Living operates a beloved senior living community that is home to a diverse group of Assisted Living and Memory Care residents at the corner of Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard and Uinta Street.
The spirit upon which the neighborhood was created and not its name is what attracted Balfour Senior Living to this community. Impressive is the community’s continued exploration and growth of its commitment to inclusivity for all and for this Balfour is deeply grateful. Most of Balfour’s residents are here in Stapleton because their family members live in this community and knew that the people of Stapleton were indeed inclusive and welcoming of their senior-aged loved ones.
Balfour Senior Living is no stranger to shifting paradigms. The Colorado-based Balfour team has been creating a new generation of retirement communities over 20 years. Keeping the focus on the needs of their residents is what allows Balfour to pivot when needed to accommodate change efficiently and with grace.
Tyler Nitta, Executive Director of Balfour’s community at Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard and Uinta Street states, “As a community leader in the Stapleton neighborhood, I feel it is important that the name of our business represents our company’s values. In order to properly honor our residents and employees, we feel that it is time for a change.”
