Nothing takes a higher priority at Balfour than treating every resident with the deference, dignity, and attention he or she deserves. We emphasize strengths, abilities and keeping things positive.

It begins by recruiting and retaining an experienced staff. Intensive training for all staff along with monthly in-service programs creates an environment of learning and interest. Our care partners are trained in validation approaches, encouraging interaction with residents in the most effective and caring way possible.

Equally important is maintaining strong communication between our care partners and the families of our residents. Our regular care meetings and educational and family council gatherings create a collaborative caring environment for residents and families.

We offer programming that helps stimulate long-term memories and increase enjoyment of the moment, including pet therapy, massage, and aromatherapy. Reminiscing and sensory activities draw on our residents’ strengths, allowing them to reflect and talk about themselves. Our care partners meet our residents where they are – in their world and in their time.

Our residents are individuals first and foremost, and their health, happiness and peace of mind are our main priority. That is why we believe in having registered nurses on site 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

  • Access to a secured well-appointed courtyard and garden with seating for residents to relax and enjoy the outdoors with family and friends
  • Access to a secure meditation room
  • Preferential placement within another Balfour community if a transition to a higher level of care is needed
  • Continuum of care on-site allows couples to stay in same community even if their needs vary greatly
  • Access to private soaking tub
  • Maintenance services for interiors and exteriors of all apartment homes

Adult Day and Respite Program Amenities

  • A socially interactive and stimulating environment
  • Professional care giving staff trained in Alzheimer’s care
  • 24-hour care giving assistance with nurses (RN’s and LPN’s) on staff up to 10 hours per day
  • Access to all regularly scheduled programs and outings, meals, beauty salon, exercise and massage therapy (additional fees may apply)

Experience a community that provides over 200 life-enriching opportunities every month

Like all Balfour communities, we offer a full Life Enrichment program that’s essential for physical and mental well being. These programs are specially designed for people who need advanced memory care with an emphasis on sensory stimulation.

On any given day you’ll find people enjoying over a dozen different programs—over 200 every month. Some are quiet, peaceful forms of self expression like outdoor gardening and painting in our private, secure inner courtyard. While others are more stimulating and social like sing-alongs and games.
